Buy D.O. Wines Conca de Barberá
The Conca de Barberá Designation of Origin is located in the province of Tarragona, it was established. In 1989, it occupies about 1,900 hectares of vineyards, there are 24 wineries that make up this D.O. with nearly 1,100 winegrowers. In general we can speak of a Mediterranean transition climate, with an approximate altitude between 350-600 meters and a composition of its soils where slate, alluvial and calcareous terraces (clay loam textures) predominate.
The preferred and authorized white varieties in this D.O. They are Macabeo, Chardonnay, Garnacha Blanca, Chenin, Moscatel GM, Parellada, Sauvignon and Moscatel de Alejandría.
The preferred and authorized red varieties in this D.O are Cabernet Franc, Cab. Sauvignon, Garnacha Tinta, Monastrell, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Syrah, Trepat, Tempranillo and Samsó.
The wines of this D.O. They are known for the predominance of the white varieties Macabeo and Parellada, fresh white wines, light, dry, aromatic and with good acidity. In the case of the reds, it is about giving prominence to the Trepat variety, with very fresh fruit aromas, generally light wines with sparkle and acidity.
The minimum percentages of alcoholic volume acquired in their wines are the following: White 10.5%, Rosé 10.5%, Red 11%, Sparkling 10.5-12.5%, Needle 10, 5-12.5%, Rancio wine 15%, Mistela 15%, VDN 15%.
