Vino Tinto Vizar Selección Especial from Bodegas Vizar introduces us to this red wine from V.T. Castilla y León, Spain, made from a blend of 50% Tempranillo and 50% Syrah grapes.

Aging: 19 months in French oak barrels.

Bodegas Vizar is situated on an estate along the banks of the Duero River in the municipality of Villabañez (Valladolid), 22 kilometers from the capital. The estate spans 90 hectares, encompassing both the winery and the entire vineyard.

The estate's vineyards have witnessed various civilizations that have populated Spain.

Historically, the estate was part of the now-defunct village of Peñalba. The village emerged during the Reconquista on the southern bank of the Duero River, opposite the Christian lands.

The estate has belonged to the Dukes of Alba and has passed through various hands over the centuries until it came into the possession of the Zarzuela family.
