The Balvenie Whisky 12 years is made in a family distillery, owned by the same owners since 1892, located in Banffshire, Scotland, the area commonly called the Highlands.
The maturation process of Whisky Balvenie 12 years called Doublewood, two woods, and includes two types of maturation in cask: Traditional oak and oak from Jerez de La Frontera. Each type of oak adds notes than the product: it softens the first and the second brings sweet and raisin notes.
