The cultivated payments to obtain the fruit to make vineyards of the Vero Gran Vos reserve were planted at the end of the 90s. They are located at an altitude something above 400 meters above sea level and with a this-west orientation . The soils are of calcium, non -salinos plaster, with a sandy frank texture without stonyness.
Viñas del Vero Gran Vos is an elaborate wine applying the concept of the selection. The best vineyards of the winery are cultivated in a special way, to try to obtain the best possible grapes. A selective manual harvest is performed, so that only those clusters that have a homogeneous maturity are collected in small boxes to preserve their integrity. After a warehouse in the warehouse, the grapes are refrigerated and macerate with their skin for three days. Subsequently, soft and slow fermentations are carried out, with the aim of extracting as much potential as possible. After the discovery of the deposits and several transfers seeking the natural cleanness of the wine, it is taken to barrels retaining the pure varietals, since each one needs a different parenting time. At the end of these periods the final assembly is decided, after a selection of barrel groups.
It has an alcoholic graduation of 14%, a pH of 3.51, total acidity of 5.32 g/l and residual sugar of 3.6 g/l.
The Viñas del Vero winery owes its name to a river in the Somontano region, the Vero River, famous for its ravines, throats and cannons. The vineyard of Vero is established in Somontano at the end of 1986 with the acquisition of 550 hectares of land in Barbastro and other nearby populations. In 2008, Viñas del Vero became part of the Family of Vinos González Byass.
