Whisky Glenrothes Sherry Cask

Whisky Glenrothes Bourbon Cask Reserve used a large proportion of European Sherry in their assemblies, this expression is composed entirely by American oak ex bourbon and is certified as kosher.

The barrels are mostly of European wood, which contains a higher amount of flavors that its American equivalent to giving a characteristic flavor. Specifically, highlight the character resinous and nuts which are based on the notes of sherry.

Tasting notes:

Nose: stuffed raisins, Candied Ginger and crunchy cookies sprinkled with sugar. Crushed walnuts and oak appear later.

Mouth: orange zest flamed and cinnamon, with more ginger and spices from the barrel at the front. This quickly becomes juicy and raisins, sultanas with perhaps a small scroll of earthy smoke.

End: Brown sugar, citrus peel and nutmeg last to the end.
