We are looking at the flagship of the winery, a blend in which Tempranillo predominates and where Cabernet Sauvignon also appears, rounding out the whole. The good work of the winery has earned it its own designation of origin that protects its premium wines.
The Uribes Family Winery was founded in 1980 with small facilities and would not produce its first wine until 1992, the year in which they would market their first reference: Calzadilla.
From the fruit of their 20 hectares of vineyards they own, they make their wines, designed for long aging. It is estimated that these vines produce around 100,000 kilos of grapes each vintage.
These relatively low yields allow traditional viticulture to be carried out, with manual harvesting and exhaustive care during the production of its references and their aging.
These factors are what promote artisanal winemaking in which the protagonists are the uniqueness of this land and characteristics of the grapes that are very faithful to their phenolic nature. Furthermore, their wines are not filtered or stabilized before being bottled, and they rest between 2 and 4 years in the bottle rack before going on the market.
