SPANISH RED WINE PITTACUM AUREA 2007

Pittacum Aurea 2007 it is a red wine made from the Mencia variety with aging in new French oak for 14 months.

Part of the DO Bierzo.

The grapes arrive at the winery in small boxes of 12 kg capacity.

The vinification takes place in stainless steel vats with punching down and pumping light during fermentation, which lasts for 15 days at 28º temperature.

Then remain in barrel until they are 14 months in this time the wine is still and quiet in the dark, cool cellar.

TASTING NOTES RED WINE PITTACUM AUREA 2007:

Given known for its intense purple color with violet tones and high layer.

Nose: intense and elegant wine. Complex, with aromas of red fruits and flowers (violets) blending with notes of cocoa, roasted coffee and toffee with a mineral and balsamic.

The palate is powerful, balanced and fresh with a long finish. Very tasty and complex with good weight of fruit. Its acidity promises a future longevity. Notes of cocoa and licorice aftertaste and a final long and persistent. A free, full and deep wine.

RED WINE PAIRING PITTACUM AUREA 2007:

Roasted lamb and goat, beef and game dishes cooked in the wine itself, grilled meats. Fish in sauce. Seek to avoid very spicy accents.

Serve this wine at a temperature between 15º and 18º.
