La historia de Cuatro Rayas se remonta a 1935, en estos 80 años de historia el esfuerzo y el trabajo bien hecho han sido los que les ha llevado a ser una de las bodegas de referencia de los vinos blancos españoles.
Actualmente la bodega produce unos 15 millones de botellas, aproximadamente un 20% del vino embotellado de la D.O. Rueda. Cuatro Rayas además de ser líder dentro del consumo de vinos blancos en España, este presente en más de cincuenta países.
Viñedos
La bodega Cuatro Rayas cuenta con más de 2150 hectáreas de viñedo, las variedades de uva que cultivan son Verdejo, esta ocupa la mayor parte, Sauvignon Blanc, Viura, Palomino Fino y Tempranillo.
Una pequeña parte de las 2150 hectáreas cultivadas son viñedos centenarios, estos tienen un nivel de producción menor y son vendimiados manualmente. De estas uvas tan cuidadas surge Cuatro Rayas Viñedos Centenarios, un verdejo en todo su esplendor.
Equipo
Este proyecto vitivinícola tiene como pilar fundamental el trabajo en equipo, una especial unión entre el viticultor que mima la uva y el enólogo que hace que ese fruto exprese sus mejores características en forma de vino.
En Cuatro Rayas cuentan con tres generaciones de enólogos para un variado abanico de vinos. Ángel Calleja, que lleva 40 vendimias elaborando vino en la D.O. Rueda, Elena M. Oyagüe con más de 20 años de experiencia, y Roberto L. Tello, que con tan solo 5 años en el sector ha demostrado que las nuevas generaciones entran pisando fuerte.
Instalaciones
Cuatro Rayas cuenta en sus dos bodegas ubicadas en La Seca, cuna de la D.O. Rueda, con unas modernas instalaciones.
La bodega cuenta con los certificados de calidad BRC (British Retail Consulting) e IFS (International Food Standard), imprescindibles para comercializar en los mercados europeos. Estas certificaciones avalan el interés que tiene por lograr una excelente calidad en todas y cada una de las fases de elaboración de sus productos.
