This Garnacha G2 Red Wine from ValleYglesias Winery presents us with a red wine from the Vinos de Madrid Designation of Origin (Spain) made with the Garnacha grape variety.

Aging:

The Garnacha G2 Red Wine undergoes aging for 12 months in French oak barrels.

Vineyard and Winemaking:

This red wine comes from the Garnacha variety, which matures late and grows upright in the Valdehornos area in the southern part of San Martín de Valdeiglesias. The soil of these vineyards is weathered granite, and the vines have an average age of between 60 to 85 years and are located at an altitude of 750 meters above sea level.

Once the clusters are harvested and taken to the winery, they undergo a cold prefermentative maceration before partial destemming. After fermentation, the wine remains in tanks for 30 days with native yeasts.

The name Garnacha G2 Red Wine derives its name from the letter "G," which refers to Garnacha. The number 2 represents the combination of Garnacha plus Granite. Therefore, the label shows the granitic character of the region.

ValleYglesias is the result of a "crazy idea" by two brothers in the late 1990s who came from different worlds than that of wine and catering but decided to bet on the land where they came from to create something unique and different.
