PINK WINES

Rose wine is usually relegated to a third position, behind white wine and red wine, but the truth is that rose wine is gaining more and more followers every day.

It is a fresh and young wine, with very present fruit, but we can also find good examples of more complex and aged rosé wines.

Rose wine is special, it has a young and informal personality with a soft and delicate presence at the same time. It has the freshness of white wine and the aromatic nuances of red wine and varies in quality depending on the vintage, the time of maturity and the processing area.

This wine is an excellent choice to accompany lunch, it is recommended to take it at an intermediate temperature between a white and a red wine, to be able to enjoy it in all its aspects, because it has the fruit characteristics of red grapes and with a good balance between softness, freshness and acidity

Rose wine is a versatile product, capable of accompanying a wide variety of dishes and adapting to many circumstances, as it is full of subtleties in terms of aroma, flavor and color.

METHODS OF ELABORATION OF THE PINK WINE

By maceration

The contact of the juice with the grape skin is the most traditional method of production in the production of rosé wine. The contact of the must or the wine with its skins is made for the coloring matter (anthocyanins).

In the production of rosé wine, a relatively short maceration period is needed, so the juice separates from the skin before it becomes a red wine.

The elaboration method for this type of wine is the traditional method used by white wines: the grapes are directly pressed and a very short maceration time is applied to minimize the extraction of color from the skins and then, the juice is bottled without aging in barrels.

Vin Gray

Vin Gris, is translated as "gray wine" and it is when red grapes are used to make a very clear rosé wine, grape varieties of low anthocyanic contributions such as Pinot Noir and Gamay in France are used. the tones of these wines are usually asalmonados, of very little intense color.

To achieve that tone, the grape grape ink is stripped of the skin to avoid the contribution of color and taste of the skin

It is a type of rosé wine produced mostly in the areas of the Lorraine Region, the Beaujolais Region, the Loire Valley and the Midi Region

Rose wine for bleeding or Saignee

The Saignee method is a technique that arises from the creation of red wine. Rosé wines can be obtained as a byproduct of the fermentation of red wine through this technique. Open the lower tap of the tank and let the pink must flow by gravity.

Wines made from this method are usually much darker than wines made with the maceration method and also much more tasty and durable. The traditional grape variety used in this technique is Garnacha although Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Tempranillo are also used in smaller quantities.
