The Denominación de Origen Conca de Barberá is located in the province of Tarragona, and was established In 1989, it occupied 1,900 hectares of wine, with 24 wineries forming this D.O. with search of 1,100 winemakers. In general we can talk about a transición Mediterranean climate, with an altitude of approximately 350-600 meters and a composition of its soils where the ridges, alluvial terraces and limestones (French-arcillous textures) come first.

The white varieties preferred and authorized in this D.O. son Macabeo, Chardonnay, Garnacha Blanca, Chenin, Moscatel GM, Parellada, Sauvignon and Moscatel de Alejandría.

The preferred and authorized color varieties in this D.O. are Cabernet Franc, Cab. Sauvignon, Garnacha Tinta, Monastrell, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Syrah, Trepat, Tempranillo and Samsó.

The wines of this D.O. They are known for the predominance of macabeo and parellada white varieties, fresh white wines, light, dry, aromatic and with good acidity. In the case of tintos, it is about giving prominence to the varied trepas, with very fresh aromas of fruit, generally light wines with spice and acidity.

The smallest quantities of alcohol added in their wines are the following: White 10.5%, Pink 10.5%, Tinto 11%, Espumosos 10.5-12.5%, Aguja 10, 5-12.5%, Rancio wine 15%, Mistela 15%, VDN 15%.
