Hito Mágnum Red Wine

The Red Wine Hito Mágnum of Bodega Cepa 21 is a 100% Tempranillo wine that belongs to the D.O. Ribera del Duero.

It is made from a selection of grapes from the lower parts of the winery's vineyards, fermented at controlled temperature in steel tanks for 30 days and aged for 8 months in French oak barrels.

Hito is a wine from Bodega Cepa 21, born after the experience accumulated over many years by the brothers Javier and Jose Moro of Bodegas Emilio Moro, which is one of the most representative and emblematic wineries of Ribera del Duero.

In this new and ambitious project the Moro brothers seek to unite the construction of a modern, minimalist and functional winery with the wisdom accumulated over generations to produce modern wines and in this new venture they wanted to bring together some of their best friends and make them participants of the exciting sensations that comes with belonging to and living closely the world of wine. The word “HITO” means a stone post, sometimes carved, used to indicate direction or distance on roads or to delimit land.

The Hito red wine was born as a young wine to complete the range of a modern and innovative winery. It is made from the winery's youngest vineyards, grafted with Tinto Fino clones from the most emblematic vineyards of Bodegas Emilio Moro.

The history of the Moro family has been written since 1932 as a project of three generations rooted in the Ribera del Duero and dedicated to discovering the characteristics of its terroir to transmit them in wines with personality.

Currently Bodegas Emilio Moro owns 200 hectares of vineyards, most of which are located in the surroundings of Pesquera de Duero, birthplace of the founder of the winery, in the heart of the Ribera del Duero.
