This wine belongs to the Altos de Rioja Winery. Established in September 2006, this 'bodega-boutique' is located in the heart of the best 'terroir' of the Rioja Alavesa. It is directed by a group of professionals with impeccable credentials and experience in the world of Spanish wine. All the grapes come from vines to high altitude, in the villages of Laguardia, Elvillar and Kripan.
This wine is composed of grapes from varieties 100% Graciano.
Vinification: Is a manual harvest, and after a careful selection of grapes are de-stemmed grapes and colouring in small deposits of 2,000 litres. Undergo a pre-fermentation cold maceration of 4 days to 8oC, after which develops the alcoholic fermentation with rigorous controls of temperature between 25-30oC. Once the alcoholic fermentation, are kept barreling for the extraction of polyphenols deemed timely by the winemaker. From the first day of maceration is performed manually 3 times a day pumped (pigeage) operation to put in contact with the skins must. The malolactic fermentation takes place in barrels 100% new, French 85% and the rest American, all of them of the best Coopers. During this period they put Lees in suspension periodically through the technical "battonage".
Ageing: Aged for 15 months with periodic rackings every 5 months.
Recommended serving temperature: 16 - 18° C

VIEW
Color rojo picota intenso, muy cubierto y con bonito ribete amoratado.
NOSE
Franco, potente, muy complejo, y con muchas notas minerales. Muestra fruta fresca, eucaliptus, pimienta blanca, tonos balsámicos y especiados.
MOUTH
Potente aunque aterciopelado al mismo tiempo y fresco. De gran complejidad, encontramos fruta roja así como especias y tiene un final largo y persistente.
