Creator of Rinto Pesquera, his restless spirit led him to found a new winery. Convinced that without good grapes there is no good wine, Alejandro Fernández began the Haza County project planting Viñas. And to do so, he sought the old Varela term, located between the horra and roa and always considered one of the best places for vineyards of this denomination of origin, due to the great capacity to mature the grapes there.
The company was not easy. In the area there abounded the little majuelos, almost all minors of half hectare, and belonging to different people. When almost everyone saw him impossible, he managed to gather little by little almost 250 hectares on a model farm, in the middle of which the cellar rises majestically.
The feed county farm is located on the shores of the Duero, in a poor land that forces the roots to deepen the food, with small slopes oriented almost all of the south and with the Tempranillo as an exclusive queen.
To elaborate Alenza 99 Alejandro Fernández and his daughter Eva apply all their knowledge and effort. The best grapes have been selected and has produced the old way, without displaying and stepping on the grapes. Aging has lasted 36 months in American oak barrels and 24 months in bottle.
The result is spectacular.
