Bodega Matsu: Vinos Matsu, el paso del tiempo en la D.O. Toro por Grupo Vintae
Bodegas Matsu...el paso del tiempo en vinos de Toro. De entre los viñedos de extraordinaria calidad de la D. O. Toro, el enólogo Raúl Acha ha seleccionado auténticas joyas centenarias o casi centenarias de las que se obtiene una uva de una enorme calidad. Son viñedos de la variedad Tinta de Toro, con entre 80 y 100 años de antigüedad y muy baja producción por cepa. Están situados en terrenos muy pobres y cultivados según la tradición de la zona de no interferir en los procesos naturales y seguir los tiempos que marca la naturaleza utilizando, en mucho casos, técnicas cercanas a la viticultura biodinámica.
Los suelos sobre los que se asientan los viñedos de Bodegas Matsu están formados por sedimentos de areniscas, arcillas y pudingas calizas pliocénicas. La altitud de los viñedos de Matsu varía poco en cada parcela,todos los viñedos se sitúan entre los 650 y los 735 metros, en los terrenos ondulados que caracterizan esta zona.
Los vinos Matsu de Toro se elaboran con la variedad de uva Tinta de Toro, que es un tipo de uva Tempranillo, de hecho se la conoce también como la Tempranillo de Castilla. Aporta una enorme personalidad al vino, gran color y buquet exquisito. Es una uva de gran finura y muy aromática, con un color rubí muy característico y con escaso nivel oxidativo, lo que proporciona un largo envejecimiento a los vinos Matsu.
Los vinos Matsu a diferencia de la fama que tienen los vinos de la D. O. Toro que siempre han tenido siempre fama de vinos muy densos, corpulentos y potentes, son vinos amables y fáciles de beber sin llegar a perder la potencia característica, son capaces de desplegar una elegancia suave y discreta, hacia la que, en los últimos tiempos, han tendido los vinos de la D. O. Toro, adaptándose a los gustos de los nuevos consumidores y haciendo que los vinos Matsu sean reconocidos internacionalmente.
Los vinos Matsu son conocidos comos los vinos de las caras, ya que sus etiquetas son muy faciles de reconocer con la cara de personajes cercanos a la bodega, Matsu significa tiempo en japonés y los vinos Matsu muestran ese paso del tiempo desde su vino Joven Matsu El Pícaro, pasando por su crianza con Matsu El Recio y llegando a su reserva con Matsu El Viejo...sin duda unos vinos que sorprenden a cualquier catador por su calidad y buen precio.
