Shenk's Homestead Kentucky Sour Mash Whiskey from Michter's, presents this Whiskey from the United States made with rye.

This Whisky Shenk's Homestead Kentucky Sour Mash pays tribute to the legacy of the historic American whiskey figure John Shenk. Who in 1753 founded a distillery that would become known as Michter's in the 20th century. This whiskey is made in Kentucky, according to the traditional process of making Sour Mash where a portion of the mash of whiskey, previously distilled (called “setback”) is added to the next batch. This whiskey is made in small batches with a 91.2 proof body.

Following the success of the 2019 and 2020 releases where some Chinquapin (Quercus muehlenbergii) oak casks were used during maturation. The 2021 edition also includes the use of this oak. The wood was air-dried naturally for more than three years. As for the Chinquapin oak, it has been charred to different levels of carbonization for aging by the whiskey.
