Raventós Codorníu es la empresa vitivinícola más antigua de España y una de las más antiguas del mundo, además de la creadora del cava. Con viñedos en propiedad desde 1551 podemos presumir de tener más de 450 años de experiencia en la elaboración de vinos y cavas de calidad. EL NACIMIENTO DE RAVENTÓS CODORNÍU
Si tenemos que poner una fecha al nacimiento de Raventós Codorníu como compañía habría que situarlo en 1914 cuando el mismo Manuel Raventós funda Raimat. Por aquel entonces Codorníu era una realidad consolidada que funcionaba perfectamente así que Manuel dejó la dirección de las cavas de Sant Sadurní y adquirió alrededor de 3.000 hectáreas en la D.O. Costers del Segre. El proyecto fue casi titánico. Se trataba de unas tierras casi desérticas y de difícil fertilidad, sin embargo, la pasión y el esfuerzo puestos por la familia para elaborar un vino de calidad pudo con todas las contrariedades. Hoy en día, esas tierras yermas se han convertido en el segundo pilar y la base vitícola del Raventós Codorníu, el sueño de un visionario hecho realidad. Cien años después, Raimat es hoy el mayor viñedo de Europa, con más de 2.000 hectáreas plantadas con distintas variedades de uva que se utilizan para elaborar los cavas Codorníu y los vinos Raimat.
Codorníu es la empresa más antigua de España y la 17 del mundo. A día de hoy, el grupo Raventós Codorníu cuenta con más de 3.000 hectáreas de viñedo en propiedad, lo que le convierte en el mayor propietario de viñedos de Europa.
